I have created a Roblox game and I put 30k Robux into sponsoring it for mobile users.
The player count goes up to roughly 15 but then it drops down to 0 extremely fast.
I have tried making the game easier to understand, adding things to keep people playing and changing thumbnails. The sponsors have a CTR of 1.5% average and it’s getting a lot of impressions with a 4.2 minute average play time.
Is there anything I’m missing? or anything I can do to increase the player count? I was thinking maybe sponsoring to PC would keep players in for longer.
Looked into your game, and the concept is really good, TNT Tag basically, nothing wrong with the game, I believe the problem would be the name Brawl, when I think of brawl I think of a fight everyone, and last survivor wins, and i mean fight not tag them. So I guess they join thinking they can bomb people out to win, and instead althought they are technically bombing people out they are tagging them instead of like throwing bombs. the banner does not really also support the tag idea:
well changing them a bit its fine, the name is a must, but I say give it a time before doing any changes if its like the first time you announce, there is more people who often pay 100k+ robux and those ads get mostly on top rather than yours.
Do you think “Boom Tag” would be a good name? There’s already a game called “Bomb Tag” although it doesn’t have many players. I don’t believe the main problem is the name, people are still leaving the game more then joining, the game hasn’t grown at all over the past 14 hours of the sponsors being up.
Small update, the player count rarely goes up to 10 now with the 30k Robux sponsor still running, is the new way to sponsor broken or am I missing something?
It is broken for sure roblox released new ads manager system and broke the whole sponsor system and the amount of impression became very very low compared to the old one
Might be “broken for sure”, but personally I’m getting up to 5 times more plays from new system and impressions are a useless metric either way.
Both of those metrics aren’t great and getting a game that doesn’t have singleplayer off the ground is very hard in general. Not sure why you’re advertising to mobile players, since you’re right to assume that playtime on desktop is usually longer (controls are more comfortable and there are less performance issues).
From the research I’ve gathered, mobile is a good idea for getting players while pc is good for earning money. I thought 1.5% CTR was good? I may be wrong since it is my first game.
I’ve seen people put in around 10k Robux for mobile and they gather around 20 million impressions, I’ll probably have to advertise for PC next time and see what happens.
It doesn’t matter how many impressions an ad campaign gathered if CTR and CPP are bad. My CTR for mobile was 3-4% in the old system (I still hoped to reach ~5% one day) and is 2.5-3% in the new.
Also, console is (or at least was) the best platform to target for getting players. Mobile is risky, unless your game is very well optimized and touchscreen friendly.
Do you have any idea on how I can increase CTR and CPP? people have been able to put in less Robux with a better result, the game is very well optimized for mobile and keeps players in.
Generally, CTR depends on the icon and, to an extent, the title of the game. Then your store page (thumbnail and description) will impact the CPP.
Before it was really easy to test out icons, because you could run sponsorships for a few hundred robux, change the graphics and compare the results. It wasn’t very accurate, but it was something. Now the minimum is $20, so that option is out for many smaller devs. There are services online that let you test graphics with specified audiences, but they also cost money and it wouldn’t be the same.
One way is to post your icon in the forums and ask for feedback, but it’s very unreliable (devs might like what players don’t). One thing you can do is open the search, find your game in the list and see if your icon stands out next to others. Maybe add some clickbaity text (wins, new, score, etc). Personally, I think green pants on green grass lacks contrast and those white effects don’t look very good.
You could also add more text in the title of the game just to grab a few more keywords. Some like emoji in the titles, others - don’t.
Roblox changed up their sponsors system its impossible to get 20M impression with low funds now, new sponsors system is semi cash grab so you gotta do multiple ways of people to find your game I thought of doing badges whenever a player join game so people who looks through profile can find this badge, there also a possiblity of your game getting into search bar especially if it has no other rivals
