Help with retention and playtime

Hello, I recently released my game Zombies vs Humans but it’s been struggling with retention and playtime, mostly retention. The game is based off of other build to survive games, where you have to build, buy gear, and fight off zombies through the night.

What flaws does the game have that you think might be contributing towards low retention/playtime? Any type of feedback is appreciated.

You need to put in more build restrictions. Make it so you can’t go higher than maybe 5 or 6 blocks. when i joined everyone just spammed blocks to get to the top. it seems like people try to avoid rather than fight

What did you do to get that initial player base?
