HEXARIA CARD GAME MMORPG (Demo Grand Opening)

HELLO EVERYONE

I am extremely proud to announce (finally) the release of the “mega public update” for Hexaria. This update brings many new things, and sharpens up many old ones. I will try to provide a list of everything that has been added or changed.

CHARACTER LEVELING
[ul]
[li]This is probably the most significant component of the update. Your characters now gain experience from battling and level up! When you level up, your max health will increase by 10-20 points, depending on your class and what level you reach. You will also receive a generous hexon bonus.[/li]
[li]New class cards are unlocked at levels 5 and 10! See what they are! :P[/li]
[li]The max level in the demo is 10, and will possibly be extended to 15 in the near future (the third world is very tough ;D)[/li]
[/ul]

NEW WORLD UI
[ul]
[li]New UI frame can be accessed by clicking the menu bottom in bottom-middle of your screen[/li]
[li]Tabs include Stats, Deck, Friends, Purchases, and Credits[/li]
[li]New deck edit frame has tiny cards to make it much easier to use and edit deck[/li]
[li]Stats frame displays your personal stats as well as your health and transport charges[/li]
[/ul]

HEALTH AND TRANSPORT CHARGES
[ul]
[li]These can be bought at the shop in the player hub[/li]
[li]You can only hold a maximum of 3 of each at a time[/li]
[li]They can be used by opening menu, clicking stats, and clicking on the charge you wish to use[/li]
[li]Health charges restore your health to full[/li]
[li]Transport charges allow you to teleport to any available game world, no matter where you are[/li]

[/ul]
TUTORIAL
[ul]
[li]There is now a tutorial, which can be accessed by clicking menu and then clicking tutorial[/li]
[/ul]

PVP STATS
[ul]
[li]PVP stats are now tracked[/li]
[li]Wins[/li]
[li]Losses[/li]
[li]Battles fled: this is the amount of battles during which you reset or left the game. It is not factored into your ratio[/li]
[/ul]

CARD DROPS
[ul]
[li]All bosses now have a chance to drop certain metacards[/li]
[li]Non-boss entities in Pyrolous also have a chance to drop metacards[/li]
[li]Drop cards are random per-player; not everyone will receive the same drops after a battle; some people may not receive drops at all[/li]
[/ul]

TWO NEW WORLDS
[ul]
[li]Arcovia: this barren arctic wasteland is home to a few deadly enemies from the poles of the earth[/li]
[li]Pyrolous: quite the opposite of Arcovia, this horribly hot place is home to terrifyingly powerful entities. Do NOT venture here alone.[/li]
[/ul]

FOOTSTEPS
[ul]
[li]Footsteps are super cool particle effects that can be purchased by clicking Menu > Purchases, and then selecting the footstep you want to buy[/li]
[li]If you buy multiple, you can equip individual ones by clicking on the icon and clicking the equip button in the bottom right[/li]
[li]While having no effect on gameplay, these are super cool and definitely show others that you mean business[/li]

The game feels a bit beginner unfriendly, it feels super slow to progress to be able to defeat level 5 enemies

Also you should be able to click pass without closing the cards tab, just seems unintuitive

I agree entirely, I tried it for a bit but being that there was little to no tutorial I just got slaughtered since I didn’t know what the hell I was doing and never play card games, and I ended up leaving lol.

Don’t get me wrong though, the mechanics and the game are well polished.

I’m not a primary source, but I’ve heard that my friend plans to implement a tutorial later on in the game’s development.

This is intended; we received many complaints about users actually passing accidentally by pressing the 3 key shortcut while the cards tab was open (don’t ask me how lol), which led to me forcing you to close other tabs to pass.

Yes, what you say is very true. You are not the first one to bring this up, and to those who have previously pointed at it, I remind them that it’s just a demo. The point of releasing the demo was to receive feedback like this, so thank you. The full version that we are working on behind the scenes will be so much better and very different in many aspects. The tutorial for the demo was thrown together by me in about an hour, and there is currently no tutorial for how to navigate the many UI screens of the game. Both of these things will be fixed in our full version, and we aim to make the game very beginner friendly, and an entirely awesome experience for all audiences.
