So I am working on a WW2 game, and I don’t want it to be a hell zone with rich kids with PIATS and Panzerfausts running around, but I do want people to be able to get weapons without paying for them. My idea is to have those word doors hidden in parts around the map and random notes around the map as well. Lets say a note on one part of the map says Viva La France, and if they say that near a certain spot, (I might add some distinguishing stuff to make the hidden rooms stand out more) the door disguised as a part of the map will open. And since the keyword is Viva La France, I might make the weapon a Lebel or some other french weapon.

I think it’s a cool idea, but players may get confused on what to do with these notes. So i think you should try and make it more obvious of their use. For example, a GUI pops up when you take out the note which will give the players instructions on how to find the hidden weapon.

What’s wrong with just starting out each player with a set of weapons ?
