[Hide And Seek Shooting] - Game Feedback

Hi fellow developers, I’ve been spending months and months of hard work with my team to create this game, Hide and Seek Shooting (or Hide and Shoot). But after quite some time investing in the game, already spending a couple hundreds of thousands of robux total, the game still could not be successful. So I am asking for some feedback on how the game could improve, or it’s just missing the correct monetization. Thank you in advance!

I clicked on one of the adverts for that game a while back. However, when I saw the thumbnail, I decided not to play it. I believe that is a key factor - if your thumbnail is driving away players instead of bringing them in, something wrong is happening.

All of the gamepasses are very pricey, which may drive away sales from a monetization standpoint.

No offense, but the lobby itself felt like a bunch of free models thrown together. It didn’t feel professional, and while I was waiting in it, didn’t make me want to stay. It wasn’t very enticing.

The guis in the game again felt like there were a bunch of different conflicting stypes, they didn’t feel like they matched. When you joined, an ad immediately popped up, which makes it seem like it is begging for you to buy something.

Basically, this game needs to be cleaned up. It may sound like I’m being harsh, but in some cases, honest feeback is the best. I hope you will take my feedback into consideration. You have a great concept, but you may need to spend some more time revising the game.

As a heads up, never spend this much without testing the game concept thoroughly. If people aren’t staying, stop pouring water into the bucket with a hole. Find out what is wrong, and fix it. Always test your adverts, to make sure they are doing well and getting the right amount of clicks, before pouring a bunch of robux into them. Instead of spending all of that on adverts, invest some of it into the game itself, for better guis/maps.

Alright thanks for the reply! That’s some really valuable tips for improvement.

On the lobby, we actually already revamped it once, but to be honest, our team was just finding different things that could hopefully entertain them, like the racing cars and roller coaster. But I agree on that it’s messy.

This part we actually included recently and thought it would be positive, since some games prompt some value packs for the player when they join the game. Didn’t know it would bring negative effect for the user.

For the advertisement part, we spend around 4k robux each day for months, and we have been revising a lot on the game.

On this part, this is actually kind of a family and friend project? I am basically the scripter of the game, my brother the builder, and my other friend the UI designer, so getting better maps and guis may be a bit difficult. I actually even help made some maps.

Sorry if this seems like complaining, but there’s another hide and seek game, Hide and Seek Transform, which is a game with similar genre, yet it has a lot more concurrent players than our game. In my opinion, I don’t see the big difference between the qualities of their game and ours. Our team was guessing that it might be because of the YouTubers that help made videos on their game, but we have tried to contact them, yet no YouTubers responded. So may I ask you on how we might contact them?

Regardless, thanks for the important information! I will try to bring improvements into our game.

When making a game, never go to “match” it, always go to beat it. If you are just trying to match it, the one with the higher playercount, that has been along longer, will always win. There is a lot of competition with hide and seek, which is probably why it isn’t gaining traction. Overall, it has a lot of potential. It may be worth it to talk with your friend/brother, and maybe hire someone to do some of the guis, to give it a cleaner look.
