I’ve been working on some scripts for a game, and wanted to test out their performance but I noticed that the client memory was high (~600mb) with just a couple of local scripts. So, I disabled all of the client scripts and reran the game. The client memory is still hovering around 600mb if not higher.
After reading up on a few other topics I also disabled all of my plugins in case there were any scripts being inserted I wasn’t aware of and the memory did not change.
The “target” memory as indicated by the console is 200mb, so I was wondering if there were any explanations for the client memory being over 3x the target?
Memory usage depends of your machine power, also the amount of memory usage taken into the studio is always higter than in-game (player), mine is natural around 900 to 1000 on an empty baseplate.
I see people around saying memory should be this much or that much, but I also found a completely fresh brand new baseplate was showing around 700mb on my computer (on Roblox as a published game, not in studio).
So I checked my game. On my computer I’m hovering around 2,000.
I logged my account in to my ancient garbage kindle that lags even just turning the screen on, and it shows 800mb soooo, there’s that.
I made a whole post about memory and lag on here somewhere just earlier today trying to get some clarity on how to avoid related issues etc, but, no one’s replied as yet.
