This isn’t an issue happening to me, but it’s happening to my friend. The issue is whenever he enters any game, it doesn’t matter what, he is constantly at 200 / 300+ ping average. Yet, on other games such as Rainbow Six Siege he gets around 30 - 60 ping, and on Rust, he gets around 30 - 60 ping on there as well, He lives in Michigan, and when he joins an Illinois server he gets 50 ping, but on a ROBLOX Illinois server he gets around 260 - 300, could this be an issue with his modem/firewall or something? Would there be any way to troubleshoot this issue? Any help is greatly appreciated as he cannot play any games that are precision-based / rely on ping
I think this would fall under a bug report of some kind. Try testing if these conditions also appear on baseplates. It’s highly possible that all the games your friend plays likely have unoptimized code bases, though I don’t have any evidence to assume so.
My second question would be, does your friend feel like they’re playing at 300 ping? I remember a bug-support post a bit ago where measured ping using a certain in-game function differed from players’ ping in reality.
Third, where is your friend getting this information that they’re at 200-300 ping? Are they using an in-game service or are they using the Ctrl+Shift+FN menus?
If you end up finding an actual issue here, then I’m not sure Roblox can do much anyway. There’s no real way to pinpoint the cause of these network issues, though I may be wrong on this.
Hope this helps.
the games that have been tested is Deepwoken, Prison Life, Murder Mystery 2. All the games listed have around 50 - 60 ping for me, while its around 300 for him, so i doubt its a game issue. He’s used the Shift F3 menu to see the ping, and the performance stats.
