Highlighting Transparent Parts

Are there any work-arounds to highlighting transparent parts?

I am trying to put a highlight on a transparent part, yet nothing is working.

I have tried other work-arounds like making the adornee a model that has an invisible part and a visible one, yet that still doesn’t work.

Is it possible to highlight a transparent part?

I’m completely confused and have no idea what you’re going on about.
Please be more clear about questions with pictures to reference and or videos.

And what I THINK you’re struggling to do is have a invisible object have a outline then just add a SelectionBox

Sorry for the vague post, I am struggling to use to use the highlight object on a transparent part. I am not sure if this is possible anymore as this post had a solution, but now it doesn’t work. Is it possible, and if so, how?

Oh I see well just like mentioned in the post over there I don’t think you’ll have any way to highlight invisible objects.(might be the way roblox implemented it or just basic visual physics)

Transparent-ish (0.5)

Fully visible (0.0)

Sorry I asked this late but why would you want to highlight an invisible instance for?

I’m not trying to make the part invisible, make it more like half transparent. I’m trying to make a hover system when a mouse hovers over an object it highlights, but it doesn’t work on transparent base parts.

Okay here’s my thoughts

1. just keep the instance invisible until they hover over it and then
just make it visible until they stop hovering then make it invisible again
2. Just use the plain bland old selectionbox that you probably did not
 want to use

Thanks for your help! I’ll use the first option in my game!
