Hinge freezes character animations

I am trying to connect two characters together using HingeConstraints because it looks better than welds for what I am doing. However, I noticed that the character the hinge is parented to freezes all of it’s animations on that player’s client. On the other player’s client both character’s animations are still playing though. I also tried connecting both characters to a part as a link between them, but it had the same issues as connecting the characters directly. Any way I might be able to get around this issue?
