[Hiring] Expert Coder for FPS game, 25% of game profits

About The Job

JT Studios is looking to permanently hire an expert coder for the next big first person shooter, titled Infantry, which has gained tons of support and hundreds of followers. This project has been kept out of the public eye until now.

You can view and even play the game for yourself here: [Moved] - Roblox

We require someone who has experience with animations, exploit prevention, and UI/menu creation. If you are confident that you can script anything when given the right assets, you are perfect.

Unlike most games looking for this type of work, roughly 80% of the workload for Infantry has already been completed. The game is actually fully playable, with over 10 maps fully created and over 200 guns modeled and rigged for gameplay.

Here is where you come in - We have a list of about 40 specific things that need to be completed in order for Infantry to be fully finished and released. These range from small coding tasks like the ability to pick up a gun, to a few large jobs like game security and combating exploits.

All menus have mockups, so there is no design sense required for this position.

We need someone who is willing to take this role as their main priority.

You must be willing to stay part of this project as long as it is released, popular, and in need of fixes and updates. This will be your main focus of development - not some side project.

Like the most successful Roblox games, we have many ideas and assets already created for a long future of updates, special events, and improvements which you will need to be ready and available to add, to keep things fresh.

About Infantry

  • 10+ large, highly detailed maps

  • 230+ different unlockable options for primary and secondary weapons

  • 10+ different game mode options

  • Massive “open world” style gameplay option called Regional Battles to be released later, with assets already created/finished

  • Immersive voice acting and commands for the full warfare experience

  • A leader who is dedicated to always releasing new content, maps, guns, and other special features, so players will always have something to look forward to

  • A wide range of cosmetics, customizations, and other things players can purchase in game

  • Profiles and other community options within the game to publicly show off your Infantry achievements

  • Over 100 badges you can earn along the way

  • A supportive community of 380+ anticipating each update

Payment

Your payment for taking the role as the main scripter will be 25% of Infantry game profits.

Our goal is to keep this game constantly updated, with hundreds of options for players to purchase. When done correctly, this could very well bring you USD $200k+ per year.

About Us

We are JT Studios. We are a team of two.

We have hundreds of supporters on our group and discord surrounding the development of this game.

The Team

Zombifiied - Team leader, builder, UI designer, graphic designer. He will meet with you and give you all of your projects.

Daxter33 - Main coder. Creator of “Paintball” which was at one point the most visited game on Roblox. He can provide help for getting into the groove and understanding what is currently finished. You will be taking over his role as the main coder, due to his lack of time.

What Happens if I’m Hired?

If you are chosen to fill this position, Zombifiied will fly to your location and be meeting you in person, where things can be discussed formally.

We want Infantry to be the main military shooter on Roblox. The market is huge and the competition is minimal. Anything that other FPS games have to offer, we will have and more.

The title is misleading; is there anything that would lead you to believe a scripter could make 200k+ a year? Is the game proven to make profits?

For such a large project, the percentage the scripter is getting is quite poor.

I wouldn’t put it past anyone for this game to be able to make 200k+ within a year if its well monetised. The studio seems to be set up well and is partly run by Daxter who has had very credible successes on Roblox with FPS games. There should be no reason why the game cannot hit that goal.

Yes, it is a gamble, but it could easily pay off if it reaches the same heights as Phantom Forces. Again, everything seems to be heading within the right direction for this game to make an impact on the FPS genre.

If you’re really looking to hire someone to help finish the game before release, and before it is profitable, you should give an idea of what their payment is going to be during this time. If this amount is $0, then “hiring” is not the right word; what you’re looking for in that case is a partner/co-founder of a startup, not an employee or contractor. Estimates of potential future dividends should also be based on past projects, to keep things realistic. Take what Paintball earned over all time, divide by the number of years it was live, and use that as an upperbound of what you’ve proven you can attain.

What are you basing the possible $200k+ yearly from? If you have some statistics; would you mind sharing? As currently it just seems like you’ve chosen a large amount that will entice any scripter.

What needs to be done for the game? 25% seems quite low for an Expert Scripter. What has already been done and what hasn’t?

I know you’ve somewhat given some information - but it would be great if you could be more specific.

I understand that you probably won’t want to elaborate on this - but what can you add that others don’t already?

Lol I laughed at this! But this is a good opportunity, hope this game reaches front page!

To add to this, it is often very hard for a scripter just to pick up on someone else’s work. For this reason, the workload is likely much bigger than what OP has written.

So you’re telling me that if I get hired, Zomebifiied is going to fly to my house and have a business meeting with me?

No thank you.

Yeah, the studio seems to be set up well. Daxter, the co-owner of the studio, is the owner of Paintball 1 and 2, which both have around 47 million visits together.
