About Us
Hey! I’m part of a small Accelerator team working on “Steamforged”, a game best described as “steampunk-fantasy dwarves underground” and we’re currently looking for someone skilled in particle effects to really bring our game to life.
About The Job
We’re looking for someone talented in particle design – namely particle emitters, but also ideally including other similar types such as Trails & Beams – to design and create effects for all around our game, from dust coming down from the ceiling to weapon projectile trails and explosions.
While we of course will provide direction and general needs, someone willing to work more freely and create effects that best fit and enhance any parts of the game as they deem fit. We don’t want to micromanage anything, and another perspective on what the game needs PFX-wise would be very helpful.
Like mentioned before, the game is Steampunk/Fantasy. We’re aiming for a generally impactful kind of aesthetic, focusing on creating a distinct atmosphere and making players feel involved. You will of course be able to see the game, some concept art (though nothing particular to particles at the moment), assets, and anything else relevant to your work.
The bulk of or otherwise a large amount of assets created should be done in the next 2-4 weeks. Longer (or shorter) times can work, but should be made clear before starting.
Here’s a quick and very bad example of what we have style-wise in our game so far, though it’s not concrete at all:
Payment
We’re willing to pay anywhere from $10 to $100 USD per effect created, with the exact amount depending greatly on the general size and required time for each individual asset. Going over this amount is possible, though would of course have to be thoroughly discussed beforehand.
If desired, we’re willing to negotiate a more (semi-)permanent position and game revenue as payment.
Unfortunately, we’re not able to pay in Robux – just direct USD.
