[HIRING] Upcoming MMORPG [In Development]

About me

Hello! My name is Ryan, and I’ve come in search for a development team! For a while now, I’ve been developing with a small team of two, and realized that progress was coming a bit to slow. So now I’m in search for some skilled Scripters/Animaters/3D-Modelers (Hopefully with experience with MMORPG’S or Legend of Zelda.) and be prepared to show previous work.

Game in progress

ROBLOX

Aeadia’s Saga: The Astral Adventure [Pre-Alpha]

Check out Aeadia’s Saga: The Astral Adventure [Pre-Alpha]. It’s one of the millions of unique, user-generated 3D experiences created on Roblox. Builder: MewMooo Animator: Clarky80 – Retired Thumbnail’s & GFX Artists: Untopica and…

Availability

I’m available all day on weekdays and weekends, preferably Saturdays.

Payments

Payment will generally be a percentage on the games revenue, however if upfront payment is needed I will pay only in robux.

Head Developer (1/1) - 40% Game Revenue
Builder (1/1) - 15 % Game Revenue
Backend Scripter (0/1) - 15% Game Revenue
3D-Modeller (0/1) - 15% Game Revenue
Animator (0/1) - 15% Game Revenue

These are just rough estimates and obviously be changed depending on the work effort and quality.

Here is a rough distribution of the game plan for each role above:

For the 3D Modelling position, are you looking to add more models overtime, or just create everything before launch and then leave it be? If its the latter, a one-time payout would likely be better.

Are you looking for 1 or multiple? What you ask for are different styles of modelling, natural and hard-surface, which most people don’t do both. Will it split the 15% between them?

I’m looking to add more models over time, because I don’t have much funds right now. Also in terms of styles, I’d prefer a 3-D modeling software used to create low-poly kind of models. Furthermore, the models that will be asked of you to complete would be along the lines of weapons, armor, and enemy designs.

I saw that, but enemy mobs are usually created with Natural modelling, like Sculpting, while weapons are made with Hard-Surface modeling. I’d suggest having someone for each task as they can create a bottleneck for content, or some people don’t do both and only focus on one style of modelling.

What is the Head Developer doing?

Why is the scripter getting paid the same as the Animator??

Oh my lord, that pay is painful.

  • Head Developer pocketing 40%: What exactly is their contribution to the game? I find it insanely unfair that they are keeping a majority of the funds, so there must be some kind of logical reason that this is happening - as in they’re doing more work than the team.

  • Builders and scripters being paid 15%: No. You definitely have to pay more. Both of these roles are one of the main parts of the team that are going to be actively maintaining and updating as necessary. They deserve more yields for their efforts.

  • 3D Modeler and Animator receiving 15%: Why? Neither of these roles should be paid a percentage, they should be paid upfront depending on the assets they submit with a concrete value. Unless you intend to keep them long-term and in active maintenance of the game, you should only be paying them for the work they submit to the game for usage.

  • Lack of compensation pay: You’re paying by percentage. What then are you offering for compensation if your game flops or you are unable to pay your team members for the work that they have contributed to the game?

As a Head Dev, I have scripted everything in the game so far, the basic UI, and most of the builds were designed (Not built) by me. Maybe I should have been more specific, a back end scripter is what I need. Someone that can help with some scripting jobs that I don’t have time for, or maybe just to accelerate my scripting processes; nothing too crazy. As for the 3-D Modeler and Animater case, it’s because of my lack of funds I am unable to have compensation pay and upfront pay, so I resort to percentage pay overtime. It’s true, I cannot guarantee whether this game will be a flop or if the workers will get much pay at all, but it’s a risk I have to take and 100% up to the individual.

I’m pretty interested in this position (builder), it’s just that I can’t DM you on twitter

Usually the modeler and the builder can apply for the same job position, if the guy knows 3d Art he probably knows how to build. but 15% is a bit unfair in my opinion.

I face similar complications. Games are much like startups in the sense that they have the ability to flop. Keep moving forward. Hopefully you find the right people. Goodluck!

I would like to apply for the animation role.
Edit: The idle pose is just your upper torso floating.

I don’t know if I should apply for scripter or not. Those percentages are worrying.

No scripter in their right mind would take 15% percentage without any upfront pay… And even with the MMORPG games, they’ve been done to death so there is a very small chance you will be able to take a share in the market. How does the developers know they will be paid???

Not really. No. You’d be surprised. If I wasn’t doing my own thing w/ my people, I would’ve considered this. In order to move forward, you have to take risks which is exactly what this is. Even if you fail, it’s a learning opportunity for those involved. It’s not always about the pay, but rather what can expand your experience and most importantly, your skill-set. Just something to think about. : )

For a lot of people, it is about the pay because otherwise I’m going to starve to death as I can’t afford food.
