My game, Blox Hunt, is at the point where I think I can call it finished.

I began developing this game back in January where the idea was given to me by a friend. After a month of so of work, I decided to release it to the public to do some testing. Within a few days, it became rather popular and reached the top of âMost Popularâ games (it didnât pass up Murder Mystery though. ). The week after that and up until now, it normally had 500-1,000 players in it daily.
This game is similar to Garryâs Mod/TF2âs âProp Huntâ and minecraft serverâs âBlock Huntâ in which you play hide-and-seek as an object. I added my own ideas into it to give it an unique game play such as energy to limit the amount of players spam-clicking objects.

The game play is quite simple; 1-2 players (depending on how many people are in the server) are chosen to be âSeekersâ and the others become âHiders.â The hiders are then released into a randomly chosen map where they mush find an object, click on it, and then hide somewhere. If they donât like the object they have chosen, they can choose another one. After a short period of time, the Seekers are released into the map where they are to find the Hiders and âzapâ then into Seekers. However, Hiders have the ability to fight back which causes the seeker to trip and take a small amount of damage. If the timer runs out, the Hiders win the round. If all Hiders were eliminated, the Seekers claim victory.
I like how you took Prop Hunt and made a unique looking game out of it.
The problem Iâm having with your game is that the Energy bar goes down when clicking a disguised prop. When I find a player and zap them, they run away and itâs literally impossible to catch them since you can only click once every few seconds. When I get chosen as a seeker I tend to leave since it feels like a punishment (itâs nearly impossible to earn points as a seeker).
The zapper doesnât trip when a player holds down / spams Backspace, you might want to disable the humanoidcontroller or something.

The thing that I find interesting about this is that I also get a bunch of messages from players saying the seekers are too over-powered, itâs too hard to be a hider, or that hiders are over-powered. I honestly donât know what to do since it seems like I canât please anyone. Do you have any suggestions on how to further balance teams?

From my experience, the game is balanced enough. Seekers have a enery bar that prevents them from spamming and Hiders have a 3 second cooldown before theyâre hidden. It might be a good idea to give Seekers a energy boost/bonus when they zapp a disguised player since that would prevent hiders from running away while the seeker is recharging. That mechanic is implemented on the TF2 version of Prop Hunt as well.
I am going mad over word âhitsquadâ, since I canât find any proper definition for it.[/quote]
Itâs something you can put in the title if you want it to get noticed by Alan or Andrew for the blog.
The seekers have the long cool down so that it may give the Hiders a chance to escape and hide somewhere else. I had it shorter while I was testing it and it was way too easy to eliminate a Hider.
I really do enjoy this game. Overall, it is a very simple concept - however it becomes very addictive over a very short period of time.
Regarding the GUIs within the place, I love the style of them. They give off a âcartoonyâ feel, whilst at the same time displaying all the important information for the player. Great game, dude.
The game is nice but⌠the maps are incredibly boring. At this point it just seems to be a bunch of props the seekers have to sort through with their invincibility.
Isnât that how all games like this are? You canât really add much to the game play without unbalanced the teams.
The Seekers are not invincible by the way. The hiderâs attack just does minimal damage.
