Would you consider making this control more like Dota2 and LoL with an RTS style camera, and clicking as movement?
In the future, I might make that an option, but IMHO I really vastly prefer the 3rd person. When I played Smite after years of LoL and DOTA (c’mon guys, you can play both >_>) I really fell in love with the control scheme. It’s faster-paced, action-packed, and more personal. Try it with shift-lock mouse if you really want a fun game.
By the way, there’s now a character select screen and I’m almost finished with the builderman character. Winning/regenerating rounds to come soon…
Thanks for all the suggestions and positive feedback. Please stop derailing the thread with DOTA/LoL wars – this is about League of ROBLOX.
I’m sorry that you don’t want to make the game look nice, but unfortunately I do. Maybe it is slow, but I want to stretch the engine – see what it can REALLY do.
I’ve really cut down the lag through some more efficient coding and the humanoids work with what I’ve made.
I think a lot of ROBLOX staff would agree with me when I say if I can’t run a game with 100+ Humanoids in it then the engine needs improving.
EDIT:
Yeah, I added some new characters and did a small aesthetic overhaul.
I considered doing something like this once, although I was going to use characters from the various clans Sorcus made, as opposed to actual users (i.e. Korbloxian Mage… although I’d probably give him an actual name). I didn’t get far before I abandoned the idea due to its complexity. Anyways, here’s what I had (It’s really not much).
You don’t want to know how complex my system is. BindableFunctions and RemoteFunctions and so much abstraction it ain’t funny. Even I’m starting to feel an aura of mysticism surrounding the project already. It’s becoming less of a precise force and more of an enigma to be pushed in the right direction.
Added the fifth of the free characters, ChiefJustus. The game is now fully functional, thought it may be somewhat unbalanced. Still obviously bugs to find but that’s true in any game. I suggest you give it a shot!
I’ve now added a shop with in-game per-round items to boost your abilities. This new building aspect alone has brought many many players to the game and it’s now becoming somewhat popular. I’m pretty excited to see where it’s going! I’ve also added a skin-selection system. There are some free skins that you can test, but I’ll get some high-quality skins to purchase later. I also did a lot of bugfixing – the game ACTUALLY RUNS multiple rounds in one server without crashing.
Okay, you have convinced me to play again. Anything revolving around guests is bound to be interesting.
Edit: Aaand it is a product .-. Guess I am going to have to see what it is like fighting a guest character instead.
I’m using the LoL financial model – slowly lower the price until it’s free.
