So I just finished a great-working OOP party-oriented matchmaking system (not currently live, due to the fact that players will rage and I also can’t fit ten people on a CreatePlace cough web team cough Although, I tested it for a couple of hours and it shows some real promise. It finds fair matches for your level and also allows you complete control over your own party if you so desire (e.g., get all your friends in one lobby and invite them to your party). On top of all this, it operates with FilteringEnabled! It’s a really nice system. If it weren’t so proprietary to my Player Level system, I’d make it open source.
You could release the ‘core’ of it, e.g. strip out the level-based stuff and anything else preventing you from releasing it and then do so.
So I added client-oriented special effects. Everything is uber smooth, now, and way less laggy. EGO (stravant) is god.
Have you added anything to the game that would overload the replication? I joined a game instance that had ping over 900ms for me an various other players. I left that game and joined another one and everything seemed fine. I’m trying to see if it is something on our end, or maybe that game instance got into a bad state.
I experience that as well. It seems to be linked to specific instances, though I couldn’t pull out a cause if I wanted to. I’m using :Destroy() as much as I possibly can be, and I’m not being particularly greedy with the network (e.g., I’m not replicating lots of new data very often).
