The Holocene is the current geological epoch, starting 11,000 years ago and continuing today.
Holocene allows the player to play as a range of currently existing animals or recently extinct ones in a large 8000 x 4000 studs map (landmass only counted), being able to manage their hunger, thirst, oxygen, moisture and sleep levels.
Holocene is similar to my other games, namely Dinosaur World, Marine World, and Mythical World.
Preview of the menu:
A low FPS preview of the shark animations:
The animals have gradual acceleration / deceleration, as well as tilting when turning, two features that I have not implemented in my previous games.
Preview of the hunger bar filling on eating:
As of this post the game is 3 days old.
The game will not be open until I complete it, but if you want to stay updated, the link is here:
Edit 21/09/2019:
Added gliding/diving mechanic for eagle, as well as carrying objects.
Amazing work! The animals look very clean and smooth. I would suggest that the hunger bar be a bit lower. It’s not really noticeable in the preview when it fills up.
I see, very impressive. Makes a little more sense knowing you’re not programming it too as I was like how do you have the time to do all of that in such a short period of time. Thank you for the insight.
Looking good dude. For 3 days of work that’s some talent, keep up the good work and see maybe if you can try to smoothen it out a little whilst flying.
First look at a sprite sheet or break down a video into frames using video to sprite sheet / gif to sprite sheet. Number them in the same order as below.
Start moving the animation with the first 0, last 100 and middle 50 frame, then work on the 25 and 75 frames, then the 12.5, 37.5, 62.5, 87.5. This should be enough frames.
The numbers represent the percentage of the animation.
