The home recommendations impressions suddenly dropped to 0 after hovering at ~10 users/day for about a month. Impressions were steadily growing over this time, so a sudden drop to 0 seems unusual.
I haven’t noticed any shift in key metrics (attached for staff) around this time. There is a growing number of players who spend many hours in the game, so I would expect impressions to continue to grow as this segment becomes more clearly defined.
Hi @MrHistory, I see that you are continuing to receive impressions during the week, just not as many / frequently as during the weekend, so this doesn’t look like a bug.
We usually don’t recommend turning on thumbnail personalization when you have a small number of impressions, as the system needs to show each thumbnail enough times to understand which ones are performing better. If you only have 1 user with a qualified play across 3-4 thumbnails, it can’t learn from this data.
I’d recommend that you continue to work on understanding / improving QPTR by just picking 1 thumbnail and seeing how it performs across a greater number of users (i.e. all the impression traffic). Maybe pick the one you were running ad traffic with since that resulted in a bunch of plays? This will give a better baseline from which you can iterate.
Side note on impressions:
Impressions are a factor of your own experience stats, platform traffic, and also other experience stats. This can cause fluctuations to happen.
e.g. if your game is shown on row 4, but someone already saw and decided to play something else on row 1, they will not see yours, even though it was recommended to them.
