Homefront Updates

This is the official update log for the game Homefront, the latest updates can be found at the bottom of the page. Dates are listed in month/day/year format. You can set your notifications to “watching” to get notified of new updates.

If you own a private server, you can use the commands listed below within your server. If a command entry is multiple words, wrap it in quotation marks in order for it to be processed as a single entry. If you need additional help with the admin system you can talk to an administrator.

2/8/2025 Update

Additions / Rebalances

  • Added friendly indicators to mines
  • Increased auto cannon damage against infantry
  • Increased vehicle HMG damage against infantry
  • Increased repair speed for repair tool
  • Nerfed AP mines

Bug Fixes

  • Vehicles should no longer pile up at the start of the round
  • Beacons no longer spawn you inside the ceiling
  • Fixed characters not rotating while in first person
  • Can rotate blueprints with a controller
  • Viewport models should no longer be small on initial menu loadup
  • Fixed inconsistencies with vehicle camera height
  • Fixed M26 SASS sights
  • Can no longer teleport through parts by exiting vehicles

Survivor

  • Changed survivor auto balance to 1/4 hunters and 3/4 survivors
  • Cheater prevention measures, no more going out of bounds

Mobile

  • Death GUI no longer gets clipped for devices with non rectangular screens
  • Tool cursor no longer gets bugged and stuck in center of screen

3/22/2025 Update

Additions

  • Added stats display on menu to launchers, grenades, and melees
  • Added new default hairs
  • Completely revamped vehicle physics, no more flinging, much less flipping
  • Added top weekly kills and all time war bonds leaderboards inside the bases
  • Shotgun damage display now considers number of shots fired
  • Can no longer reload while sprinting
  • Improved admin system

Fixes

  • Fixed issues with spawn location while spawning inside base
  • Fixed accessories not saving
  • Fixed repair tool animation
  • Fixed sniper scope stuck on end of round screen
  • Can no longer equip guns on restricted classes

Rebalances

  • Suppressors now penalize speed to 70% and humanoid damage to 80%

5/23/2025 Update

Additions

  • Added the Ellerman team, available on Colesburg TDM and conquest
  • Added Sarathi Basin map

  • Changed civilian rescue points, they’re now strategically placed around the maps

1/7/2026 Update

Additions

  • Added helicopters: There are 14 different helicopter models. Please refer to the controls at the bottom of the screen (with help UI enabled in settings). They are available to all classes in limited quantity on most maps/modes.
  • Engineer changes: Added spawn tent, gabion wall, and AT mine to buildables. The spawn tent has no spawn limit and features a shorter cooldown compared to the standard beacon. Build tool has 5 supplies by default, can refill by touching crates. Build tool can now repair buildables. Most builds take less supplies to build. Hedgehog and barrier1 have increased health.
  • Added the Helicopters+ gamepass
  • Added supporter benefits: Sabre, MCX VIRTUS, MCX SPEAR. Those with the booster or supporter roles in the discord now automatically receive the benefits. Benefits are automatically removed when the user no longer has the roles.
  • Improved civilian movement: They should no longer get stuck moving in circles or get caught on barriers.
  • Mobile improvements: Added tool offset setting to control where your cursor is positioned on screen, added laser toggle button
  • Explosives+ now gives +2 grenades/C4
  • Added the stinger
  • Added the M60 RISE as the Ellerman cavalry+ gamepass tank
  • Redesigned intermission and spawn interface
  • Replaced all weapon effects, and many of the sounds on guns and vehicles
  • Added anti exploit, this will be improved in time but the insta-kill stuff should no longer be possible
  • Switched welds over to unreliable replication, turret rotation should look more smooth
  • Updated recon+ and cavalry+ pass icons
  • Updated admin system

Bug Fixes

  • Can no longer equip two of the same gear at once
  • Removed seating on back of M35 supply truck
  • Fixed explosive hit registration on moving targets
  • Fixed a major looping error which caused the server to lag
  • Fixed melee throws not going toward mouse position

Balancing Changes

  • Added 10 second cooldown to spawning on conquest objectives
  • Altered tank shell velocities
  • Anzio, Mk19, and recoilless rifle have various stat changes
  • Turrets now deal 1.5x damage for headshots, the same as what guns had before
  • Buffed repair tool

1/16/2026 Update

Changelog

  • Redid grenade scripts, C4 can now stick and grenades have a visible throw arc to help you aim.
  • Changed C4 explode keybind from Q to E.
  • Redid all turret and effect replication, should have positive benefits for server latency.
  • Changed PhysicsSteppingMethod, should help performance.
  • M60 RISE now has same stats as other gamepass tanks.
  • Explosions now launch vehicles!

1/25/2026 Update

Changelog:

  • Added buildable anti-air turret
  • Added RGO impact grenade (this was actually supposed to be in the game a while ago)
  • Adjusted all sounds and added volume settings
  • Added some new voting screen music
  • Added ambient noise to all the maps
  • Revamped all grenade stats and prices
  • Reduced impact grenade time between impact and explosion
  • Autocannons, HMG, and MG all deal increased damage to helicopters
  • Fixed a bug with the first person character causing projectiles to detonate on launch
  • Launch physics should be a little more consistent on vehicles
  • Reduced max heli count on Colesburg

2/6/2026 Update

Changelog

  • Added MobileTurretOffset setting which controls mouse position for any non-tools.
  • Fixed some effect/sound replication bugs, helicopter rockets no longer sound super loud.
  • Revamped explosion damage: the distance falloff is no longer linear and the distance calculation is much more accurate. Additionally, damage to vehicles is now distance dependent. You’ll notice that helicopter rockets and vehicle autocannons deal much better damage to infantry now due to this improvement.

6/5/2026 Update

Maps & Modes:

  • Added the map Al-Khafji, designed by turbowolf. This is a fast paced, infantry only map. Features Ellerman vs Cascadia, rush, conquest, survivor, and TDM.
  • Revamped Metropolitan, Colesburg, and Snowbound (lighting).
  • Added 3D grass to the wooded maps, and recolored ghillie suits to better match environment.
  • Extra transport vehicles now spawn automatically inside the bases.
  • Added a supply depot in base which refills supply trucks and has an auto-replenishing stock of crates.
  • Improvements to spawn base designs.
  • Added forward spawns on Colesburg KOTH.
  • Revamped survivor: Survivors now get 150% health to start, which is increased to 200% on the last reveal. Removed cavalry class for attackers, and severely reduced armored vehicle count. Spawn beacon is disabled for survivors.
  • Rush mode can go into overtime.

Tools & Vehicles:

  • Added 22 new guns: AS Val, AUG Para, BW-5, C8, Colt LSW, DTSRS, FN MAG, Krag-Jorgensen, L129A1, LR-300, LSAT, M16A1, M98B, MPT 76, MSBS Grot, Micro Uzi, NTW 20, SVD Dragunov, SWORDFISH, Sako M23, UTS-15, VSS.
  • Model replacements: T-90A → T-72B3, BMP-2, M72A7.
  • Character response to mouse follow is less sluggish and more smooth.
  • Decoupled turret rotation from vehicle rotation, there’s a setting in case you don’t like this.
  • Added sensitivity settings, the zoom curve setting follows a power law of the form (Zoom/Max_Zoom)^(1/Curve).
  • Grenades are less slippery.
  • Build tool UI display is more consistent.
  • Vehicle prompts no longer hidden while holding tools.
  • If tool is forcibly unequipped, then it is later auto-equipped.
  • Can now stay on helipad after spawning heli for 30+ seconds without getting despawned.

Misc Additions:

  • Added get-up animation after being ragdolled. Must deal at least 40% damage in order to initiate ragdoll, and ragdoll time now depends on distance from explosion. Tools are now dropped when ragdolled.
  • Added descriptions to each tool on the loadout menu.
  • War Bonds are now awarded for playing objectives.
  • Added reset settings button.
  • Added custom username display. Blue for friendlies, red for enemies. Only displays enemy username while your mouse is hovered over them.

Rebalances:

  • Improved cylindrical explosion damage detection.
  • Buffed claymore, AP mine, and all grenade launchers.
  • Rocket launchers, grenade launchers, and C4 deal much more damage to buildables now.
  • Buffed all grenade blast radii.
  • Rebalanced some of the shotguns.

Bug Fixes:

  • Rockets and grenade launcher projectiles now render correctly on other clients.
  • Adjusted the damping force on all car springs, shouldn’t jitter in place anymore.
  • Updated the player module. This hopefully fixed various issues regarding the mobile camera and vehicle inputs not registering.
  • Fixed rush UI not updating objective status.
