Host Your Own Virtual Meetups & Community Events

Just above the featured attendee stuff it should say that you are confirmed to attend the event you signed up for. The featured attendee stuff is optional and we’ll most likely have this disabled in the near future

I hope there will be a way so users who most need these events can attend them. I tried signing up for the networking event but registration is already full. Is it only going to serve those who come first?

We’re currently intentionally keeping the max attendees to these events low (around 20-30 max) since it’ll be easier to maintain and for the host to control.

As time goes on we’ll start increasing this number and eventually, in the future, we’ll see large conferences/workshops etc. hosted by the community.

But how exactly do you expect to get enough events so that someone could browse around and maybe say, oh, that looks cool! Currently none of the events look enticing to me. Currently, I feel the age limit is way too high, which will mean less events.

I assume the age limit for hosting is 16 to ensure that they can handle running an entire event. (I’m almost surprised it’s not higher by a year or two.)

Great question,

We have an application for people who are interested in hosting events to apply to. We allow all different skillsets to apply such as building, scripting, modelling, composing, designing, you name it.

Once we start reviewing and onboarding the new applicants, this should increase the different types of events on the site. We’re also at the beginning line of this program, we’re learning and listening to all the feedback which will help shape the program.

In regards to the age limit, we decided to make it 16 years or older for maturity and experience reasons and don’t think it’ll impact the number of events in the long term. Personally, I think the quality of the events is more important than the quantity. You could have 100 events but if the quality isn’t good, you’re less likely to have people return. Start off small then grow to something bigger.

I can’t find any on the website. Is there an age requirement for attending them? If so, what is it?

Nobody is hosting any right now, but keep an eye on the site!

This sound amazing, I already applied though I highly don’t think it will get accepted be even if It doesn’t I can’t wait to see what other talented people will do with this.

Very Excited for this!
My only question is do you need to have a group with a lot of players or a popular game to get accepted into the Program?

Love this idea! Looking forward to participating in these!

Nope, not required but it is a nice to have.
Make sure you have a strong application and experience with creating/developing on Roblox!

Well, my prediction came true and now there have been no events for the past week.

This is going to fail if we don’t get events, so how do you plan on getting events on there if no one is posting events?

There’s been a couple of digital events so far from users who were in the program as organizers before it was announced, it just seems like it takes time for Roblox to get developers set up with events.

Given that we’re less than two weeks since the initial announcement and users who have applied aren’t accepted into the program yet, it’s more of a matter of Roblox still processing applications rather than nobody posting events.

Our initial event organizers are planning new events currently, there should be some this weekend. We’re also in the progress of going through the application phases at this current time. We’re currently in stage two with a great selection of developers.

We expected that we won’t have many events initially which is why we only broadcasted about the program on devforum announcements and a bit of Twitter.

Once we onboard the new event organizers and they are all setup, expect to see more events, more often.

Remember, quality over quantity.

Hey everyone, I wanted to give an update in regards to applications during the holiday.

Starting from next week Monday, Roblox is out for holiday meaning that applications won’t be reviewed, anyone currently in stage 2 (video submissions) or 3 (interviews) will receive an email update in regards to their application.

We will be back in action reviewing applications starting early January 2021.

In regards to events, as of right now we don’t believe there will be any new events until January 2021 but please to keep an eye on the events page as our Event Organizers may host events earlier.

We hope you have a safe and cheerful holiday! We can’t wait to see you all in the new year!

Hi everyone, happy new year!

We’re starting to review applications once again. Please note that it may take a little longer to receive a status update on your application.

Rest assured whether you are moving forward in the application process or not, you’ll hear back from us.

This is really exciting! Can’t wait!

I’ve been considering applying to the program. Does anyone know if there any other requirements beyond the Roblox team to (for lack of a better word) “face reveal”, in this program? Although this may change in the future, I’m not sure how comfortable I am using my camera beyond communication with Roblox staff at this time. Thanks :hidere:
