How can I attach a rig to a plane/image?

i want to be able to squash and stretch an image without needing to use a whole lot of complex math and hacky methods. the only alternative that i know of is bones. but none of the youtube tutorials that i found have been any help. how can i attach 4 bones to an image (the image is a flat mesh btw) that i can then deform and animate?

(please see the beautiful diagram below for reference)

Good question.

I would give you in-depth detail but it’s 3:30 AM for me sooo…

Basically insert a plane and add an image on-to it. Then add an armature and move the bones so that they are at the four corners, then export the mesh as an fbx (entire mesh) and import to roblox with rig type at custom. After importing delete the folder and animation controller, you only need the bones. After that just manipulate the transform property of the bones and you’re done!

Here are the files:
manipulate images.blend (921.8 KB)
MI.rbxm (4.7 KB)

thanks for taking the time to help, it solves my problem! however, why are the bones themselves hundreds of studs underground when i go to move them?

EDIT: i followed the steps u provided and it worked like a charm, thanks again

You’re welcome. : )
