If I open a place, and then close, the changes will be autosaved. Instead, there used to be a ‘save changes’ dialog? How can I now close a studio session without saving my changes?
If you go to the File tab you can ‘publish to Roblox’ or ‘Save to file’ etc.
If you don’t want auto saves go to File > Studio Settings > Studio > Auto-Recovery Enabled and uncheck the box.
If you know you’re going to be working on a place and want it to auto save then remember to recheck the box.
The other thing is, it’ll only auto save to your computer. Your place on Roblox won’t be changed so if you want to work on the unsaved version just open the place from Roblox, not your computer.
But if I open the place from Roblox to begin with, how can I discard my changes?
Auto saves shouldn’t be published.
In your Studio settings where is your Auto-Recovery Path set to save the files?
However, if you are working on a place with Team Create enabled then it automatically publishes the game. If this is only your place and others aren’t working on it then disable the Team Create.
Auto saves will not be published, but they will still be saved to Roblox. How can I close a studio session in a way that discards my changes completely?
Actually I figured it out. I had to disable Team Create, and then new versions will no longer be created every time I open the place in Studio.
So basically what I said in the last sentence.
all you have to do click the X in the top right corner and the prompt will appear and you choose dont save and boom it doesnt save
new instances like a new baseplate you just opened wont have autosave
Somehow I missed that sorry, so I marked that as the solution.
