How can i copy keyframes from one animation to another?

Before the new animation editor moved out of beta, i was able to copy keyframes from one animation to another. I did that by right clicking on the keyframes i needed and clicking “Copy” and then going to another animation and right clicking then clicking paste. This doesn’t work anymore in the new animation editor, though. Does anyone know how I can do this?

I just right click the key frames and copy them, I don’t know why it isn’t working for you.

I didnt ask about how to copy keyframes, i asked about how to copy and paste them onto another animation save. (like copying keyframes on one animation save, then loading up a completely different one, then pasting them on it)

You can export the animation you want to copy and then import it into another animation save

im not talking about the whole animation, im talking about copying a row of keyframes into another animation save

so say i have this image
its like an idle, and I want to copy it onto another animation save, so i do right click and copy

then i load the other animation save that i want to paste it onto. in the previous animation editor, i was able to paste it. in this one, I cant

Well, I don’t think you can just copy and paste it. You have to export the animation key frame you want, then import it into the other animation!

Just ran into the exact same problem today…the solution for it is really tedious and I hope the new animation editor’s copy and pasting is fixed soon. So, I had a SwordAttack animation and an Idle animation. I changed the start keyframe of the Idle, and I needed to make the start in the SwordAttack the same keyframe.

So, I had to copy the start keyframe of the Idle animation and paste it into the start of the SwordAttack animation. Here’s how I did it:

  1. I deleted the start keyframe of SwordAttack

  2. I saved SwordAttack to the animation rig dummy by using … > Save As > New > “SwordAttack”
    image
    image

  3. I imported my Idle animation from roblox into the rig

  4. I renamed the starting keyframe of the Idle animation to “Stance” image

  5. I saved Idle using … > Save As > New > “Idle”
    image

  6. I accessed my dummy animation rig in Explorer and expanded the “AnimSaves” model
    image

  7. I copied the “Stance” keyframe from the Idle animation
    image

  8. I pasted the “Stance” keyframe into the SwordAttack animation
    image
    image

  9. Then, I loaded the SwordAttack animation into the rig using … > Load > SwordAttack
    image

  10. And, as you can see, I now have the new stance in the SwordAttack animation, which I then exported to Roblox, overriding the old one!

This is my first post on this forum so if you’re confused or need me to clarify, don’t hesitate.
Edit: grammar

Also, don’t rely on the auto load, and make sure you go through … > Load > (AnimationName) after you pasted the keyframe in

We are aware of multiple requests for this functionality to come back. I’ll try to get it’s priority raised due to this. Hopefully within the next few weeks.

Not trying to bump this, but it’s been 2 years now and this is still an issue.
