How can I get better at animating?

You can write your topic however you want, but you need to answer these questions:

  1. What do you want to achieve? Keep it simple and clear!
I want to get better at animating and making my animations look more proper and accurate to the reference. I animate with R6 rigs.

  2. What is the issue? Include enough details if possible!
My animations sometimes are not as accurate as the references.

  3. What solutions have you thought of so far?
I have tried looking at some animations from games like Sonic The Hedgehog (2006) and the way characters are animated in that game.

If you have any suggestions, please inform me.

I know it’s what everyone says, but practice truly makes perfection.
If you want to get good at something you have to put a bunch of hours into practicing.
Apart from that all you can do is learn some of the theory(There’s a bunch of info on YouTube)

I know it’s paid ($29.99) and I agree it needs lowering, but if you agree its a really good plugin, get Moon Animator 2
Personally I use this all the time as its got character inserts, easing, and more.
If you are not using these animations for a game, I would recommend Better R6 Rig as it has a lowertorso and main controller, and it fully works with clothing, accessories etc

I completely agree with this as well, and even I haven’t perfected it yet and wont for a long time still

use blender to animate, it’s free and pretty easy to use but you need to get used to it

I had no experience with animating and I’ve never animated before but my animations turned out to be good and smooth.
