How can I improve my scene?

I have made a small path with floating lanterns, what would be good ideas to populate the surrounding areas but keeping the theme similar?

Maybe make the floating path like a bridge over water?

you should add a hugeee statue of me!!

first of all, try to make the path curved instead of straight. you’ll have less space to fill up. if you dont want to do that, make it shorter. trust me it will make this a lot easier.

w the theme of that floor, i would suggest creating some sand dunes using roblox’s terrain editor. you could put some ruins of a temple around the area too, but i suggest you fix what you’ve already made at the moment. floating lanterns say “japan” but the ground says “egypt”. try and keep the style consistent, make it obvious what you’re going for.

there are 2 ways you could go about this:

  1. replace the sand with dark green grass and put trees, blades of grass and fireflies around the area. delete that weird neon path and replace it with grey squares to create a stone path instead. add some stones and flowers around that swimming pool(?) too. you can keep the lanterns, but scatter them around the map. this will create a cute little forest scene w a path that leads to a hidden lake.

  2. you could also just turn this into interior instead and keep all the stuff you’ve built so far. create some pillars and walls with a sandstone texture on them and use these to build up the inside of some kind of shrine temple thing. you could add a beam for a moving image and add a water texture w 0.85 transparency to it. attach that to the wall and it will create a beautiful flow of water down the walls of your temple or whatever.

to avoid having this issue in the future, i suggest making a pinterest board of what you are planning to build or using a reference image!! you dont need to exactly copy it; just have it there so that it’s easier for you to visualise where everything will go and what you can add. it will also aid in better colour picking + keeping everything in the same style.

Hey again!
Great advice, especially the Pinterest board. As I’m sure you can tell building is not one of my strong points haha, so a consistent style would be beneficial.

that’s alright, with time you’ll improve!! i’ve been (actually) building for around a year now and i still kinda suck lol. it’s a hard thing to get into. good on you for trying to learn it though!! mad respect!!

You know if you wanna help or anything, (not suggesting anything :flushed:) but you can always add my discord and we can chat from there :upside_down_face:

sure!! u can send me a message.
