So recently I made a shop UI and I’m not sure if it looks good. Please reply with your honest opinion, thanks.

Looks pretty good but some things can be improved
(Prepare for maybe a long essay lol, also sorry if it sounds a bit rude the way I say these suggestions )
The frame that shows how much money you have is hard to see since the background is bright including the text, try adding a bolder outline to the number to make it easier to see or change the color.
The item unlocked should as have curved edges to fit with the current aesthetic of the guis having curved edges.
Some released a tip where you can make the x by doing a + and rotating it 45 degrees with the Gotham font (forgot which one it was) or a better recommendation is to use images instead of a normal x since it looks a bit offset and squashed. (It could also look very bad on smaller screens)
You should also made add a description to the items to say how much damage it does and other neat stuff you would like to do.
IMO, the shadow on the “Blacksmith” title should be less darker and more down a bit? Just a suggestion though…
Another thing about the X button, it looks a bit off from the aesthetic of which im guessing is a old timey RPG kind of style for a fighting game? If so, try making the button blend in with the title or the square itself to fit the colors.
The scrolling bar could also be a bit larger to fill in more of the space.
Overall though, nice gui and simple minimalistic style. Goodluck with your project!
(Again, sorry if this came off sounding a bit rude…)
I’m not a UI designer, but here goes…
I like the shading that you’ve done on the top text, it definitely looks nice.
Also, I think that the font suits the overall UI well, plus the layout is easy to use and not an eyestrain. It looks like a nice simplistic UI that would be comfortable in most simple games.
Maybe you could change up the colour scheme, unless if it’s meant to suit your game. That is, if you’re making a game because you haven’t specified that. I would work on the exit button and making it inside the UI and changing the colour up, since the bold red doesn’t look so good against the more beige-ish colours of the UI.
Alright, thanks for the reply
I’ll work on it right away.
Btw, I forgot to mention that when you purchase a weapon, there’s a thing like this:
**The image at the center isn’t centered just because of the tool’s texture (which is not final).
I don’t think thats a good spot to display your coins considering that’s where the chat is. Should probably move it down.
I know, the display for the coins is just for the testing, haven’t decided where I want to put it yet.
you can move the chat with using SetCore if u didn’t know already
If you have imagery on the purchased weapon UI, why is there so little imagery on the shop UI? There are so many frames, so much text, and very few images. It needs more flare, in my opinion.
As stated by 3rdhoan, the text is also too bright, especially for the gold and the white text itself. You could use an image for the gold, you know. For example:
Battleaxe
[image of gold coin] 50
Food for thought. Looks nice so far anyway.
Thanks for the suggestion, I’m going to remove the images anyways and put viewportframe (with the camera rotating around the item), I’ll add the gold icon as you mention.
Put a “gold” Icon, small details matter!..
honestly, there’s not enough contrast between colours. the text is hard to read, especially if you have poor eyesight.
I also think the rays behind the item when you buy it would look better if they went all the way to the centre, and the item image was larger
Thanks for the reply, I’ll work on it when I’ll get on my PC.
Something about the color scheme throws things off slightly. I’d agree with what ClockworkSquirrel said.
I think it’s the fact that you use shades that are very similar. Perhaps the layer that the item name and gold cost is displayed on could be made slightly darker as a contrast to the light colored text. Might make it easier to read that way.
You could add like when you move mouse on something it turns gray or something.
You mean the mouse enter/leave? I’ve already put it for the buttons…
I question the color choices, although it may match with the theme. As @Nosniy stated, the coin count should be moved from the top left corner, as the chat is there. Try moving it to the top right corner, or the bottom left corner.
The UI looks amazing in this photo, but theres one thing… I have horrible OCD and that ‘x’ button is driving me absolutely INSANE. Id have no clue how to make it better, but I’d say if possible, move it down and round the top to fit the curve. I’d like to see how that sorta turns out (And I think where the coin value is is perfect, just remove the chat, topbar, and leaderboard upon entering the shop)
Hi I checked your UI in game. The UI doesn’t show on my screen. I see a bot of the numbers though nothing else, make sure Offset is 0 and you only have scale for the numbers. So all screens can see the UI(I’m a UI designer).
