How can I improve the new player experience in my casino game?

I am developing a casino & resort roleplay game called High Rollers.

In general, I think the game is pretty good; over the past ~month since development started, I’ve built up a core playerbase of returning players, many of whom spend hours a day playing. However, a significant number of new players leave the game after just a few seconds or minutes.

It seems what I need to do to bring the game further is to improve the experience for newer players. But, as someone who literally created the game, I think I’m a bit blind to the mindset of someone coming in with no prior knowledge.

So: what can I do to improve the experience for newer players?

Maybe add some kind of prize for when you like stay in for 5 minutes or so, this way people will stay in and play the game, know it more and then stay

I really like the game and I think the casino machines are very well made. I think you have a pretty decent number of concurrent players for the amount of visits your game has. You want to focus on maintaining your player base with growth being an added benefit. I do have a few suggestions just in general to make the experience a little bit better. The map is pretty big and some areas of it are unused. You don’t want things to be crammed but too much open space can be wasted space. You could add more variation when it comes to plants besides just palm trees and a few spots of grass. You could maybe also have a little more decoration like barrels, tiki heads, or whatever fits the theme you’re going for. This would make it seem more like a tropical island. I would also recommend adding more types of games to play. You could add a derby horse racing game, a different type of slot machine, and maybe even bingo or a wheel spinner. You could also have in game items that you can buy with the currency you receive from winning games. It could be simple things like a usable firework or even a custom theme that changes something like the background of a slot machine game. I also do not recommend adding a system that rewards players for being in game every x number of minutes. That will just result in players staying afk in game farming money. This will make your game seem dead. When new players join, they’ll just see a bunch of afk people rather than an active game. Instead, you could add a daily reward system that rewards the player if they join the game a few days in a row. With a daily reward system, players will have more incentive to come back every day. This last part is optional but if you have a lot of open space and don’t want to add more things to fill up the space, you could just separate areas with plants or trees and have signs saying what games/things are where. I hope this didn’t sound mean. These are just some of my suggestions, but I really like the game so far. It has a lot of potential!

I’m not trying to nitpick, but based on the thumbnail alone, I can see you have stolen assets from other games. Try making your own in blender and such. It’ll match the rest of the game and give off a better aesthetic

What thumbnail, and which ones? I’m the scripter for the game, not the builder, so not sure which assets you’re referring to, or where they would be stolen from.

Thank you for the feedback, it’s all very well thought-out, and makes a lot of sense. I will definitely consider making changes based on your suggestions.
