Hi! My game is called “Obby But You Can Fly” and it is a new obby game released about 3 weeks ago. I have ran several sponsors for the game and it usually has about 6-8 concurrent users during peak hours and racks in about 700-800 players daily. One problem I noticed is the playtime. It is well below average compared to other obbies, only getting 3-4 min of playtime.
Why is this so? I have recently added a “Free Skips” button that gives you a free skip every 6 min to encourage longer play. The obby is shorter, only 40 stages, but it still takes over 10 min from start to finish. It has an engaging and fairly easy obby that keeps determined players hooked.
I am so lost as to what the problem is, please help!
One big thing which i suggest you do is fine tune the difficulty of the obby as i got to around the 15th stage alongside 2 other players and all of use only died once. Which yes it’s good to have easiness for the players but adding in slightly more difficult levels every about 5 stages can make the player be more engaged with the game as they have to think and be careful with what they have to do instead of just rushing through the levels and getting easily bored at the easiness of it. However make sure to test the levels beforehand with multiple people so you can fine tune the difficultness so it’s fun and not an nuisance.
I also believe it may due to the fact that the levels are not well designed or thought out as well on several levels you could just bypass the kill blocks by going around them and just overall there was no challenge whatsoever as with the amount of moving kill blocks you have in the game they also sometimes freeze especially for lower end devices (i also tested this game on my phone and can back this) which just means you can easily fly through the levels as most of the ones i went through felt like they were just moving kill blocks.
