How can I keep users in my game for longer periods of time?

I have started several small projects over the past few months but none seem to be very interesting to play, and there isn’t much motivation for players to keep playing it.
Does anyone know any methods to keep players engaged and wanting to play my game for extended periods of time?
I have tried adding more and more content into my game, but I still fail to find a way to make players stay in my game after having seen all this content.

What a game makes good is music, enviroment, good mechanics, features, models and looks of it. That’s basically it. I don’t know what kind of games you made but hope you do well in the future!

Introducing an element of progression tends to keep many people hooked in for longer to obtain the end reward/things you achieve along the way. Whether this be a storyline or some form of cosmetics, this could give many players an incentive to continue playing, and while they’re doing that they may begin to enjoy the game for its many other features and play it regardless of any prizes being offered to them.

However, this will differ depending on what your game is, since there are certain features and elements that you could incorporate to it that could work on a universal scale, however, many of these need to be fine-tuned to match the intended purpose and style of your game so that it doesn’t cause any inconsistencies when it comes to matching the interests of yourself and what the players imagine when they click play.

Actually a good type of game that let’s people stay in is a game where you can’t save your data, like a tycoon or make a game with long matches/rounds in it, an example is the conquerors 3 where the matches last a lot of time.

Add like levels and thing you unlock, such as you unlock a certain item at LVL10.

Ask for feedback. Also, run events like leagues. For example, if your game is a battle royale, you could run an event where the more kills you get, the more prizes you get.
