How can I learn & practice low-poly building?

Hey, I’m an experienced programmer who wants to branch out more and learn to build. I know low-poly is one of the easier types of building, but I want to learn how to properly build in that style. If anyone has any ideas on how I can learn, or some good tutorials specifically for Roblox, please let me know!

Honestly, in my opinion, low-poly is not an easier style than others. You’ll need to create assets/buildings with less detail. sure, but you’ll have to pass on the message of what an object/building is used for with fewer tools (for instance the use of textures for grass, etc.) creating some restrictions. Nevertheless, if you’d be interested in building experiences and maps that respect the criteria for “low-poly”; I’d recommend the following approach:

  1. Minimize your polygons, you’ll want your creations to be more “blocky”
  2. Avoid the utilization of the terrain tool
  3. Do not use textures, instead, try playing with bright colors
  4. Patterns in low-poly builds are key
  5. Learning to use blender could help you to add some further detail to your buildings with meshes, though it’s completely optional and up to the builder’s preference

Please keep in mind these are some of my own personal suggestions, that if you do not wish to follow you absolutely shouldn’t and stick to your gut. Adding on, if you do not wish to build something that’s “low-poly” I’d recommend not to take my previous points into account.
