That looks like it was made from a Mesh, not a Union.

It could be done with a Union, but you’d have to make the Negated sections the right shape, not just using straight edged WedgeParts.

Broken glass breaks into shards. The way you’ve made it now, it’s more like sharply chipped wood. Also, it needs thickness.

In Blender, using the knife tool [k] you can draw some edges.

Then, using the ‘Fracture’ plugin (automatically installed, just have to enable it, google this), you can make shards.

Then select all faces, set ‘transform pivot point’ to individual [.], extrude [e] in the axis perpendicular to the plane (in my case the red axis, so [x]). Resize to be a tinge smaller [s] and you get shards

Now, mind you, this isn’t really how glass breaks either. You can use the ‘annotation’ tool to guide fractures. You can also just use the knife tool all the way through, for the most control. But I’m not going to do your work for you, so here’s the easy way :stuck_out_tongue:

(Ok fine a very quick knife tool version)

@ExercitusMortem gave a really good explanation on how to do it.

But if you’re just looking for artistic suggestions, just like anything you can google them. That way you can search broken glass, broken windows, smashed glass, glass shards and look at the images there to get suggestions for how you can make it look realistic.
