How can I make invisible or semi-transparent light sources look better in Future technology?

ShadowMap:

Future:

I don’t know how to describe the issue I have with this too well, but when it comes to point lights, it just sort of looks like the light sources are visible as unusually bright spots.

Replacing the point light with surface lights in all directions keeps the space on the ground underneath the part dark, even with CastShadow on the part disabled. It also looks strange from a distance.

And spotlights just look the same as a point light: an unwanted bright spot in the center.

I just want a way of uniformly lighting an area with a part that isn’t completely opaque while using the Future lighting technology.

Are you talking about the thing in the middle of the light? Those are specular highlights. Roblox unfortunately has no way of disabling them, so your only option is to use a more “rough” material on all your parts or make a custom material.

The custom material looks the best, simply make a new material variant and set its roughness map to a pure white image.
Heres an example: left is smooth plastic, right is smooth plastic but with the custom material
