Hi! I have been working on a word game for a bit now as a sort of side project, and I am at a stage where I think it’s getting to fairly polished and good… Players generally seem to only last a minute and a half though, so I was wondering how it can be made better and more engaging
Actually, I recommend to you recreate UI, and remake background. Make moving camera, make it graphically better, add some locations, like cave, and make buttons bigger please xD
I absolutely love this game! It reminds me of the mobile game Wordscapes, but I prefer your style of gameplay to that game’s.
I agree that stylizing your UI could make the game more interesting, but the music and background are gorgeous.
I have an idea that you could work on down the road: Maybe you could add different backgrounds after certain groups of levels? I think it would incentivize completing levels.
Overall, I love this game and I’m so happy someone thought of this. You are very talented!
I really love the concept and dynamics and the game!
But as other people are saying, I think you would benefit from switching the gui a bit to be more engaging
You should create your game logo using Photoshop instead a button with a text. It would be good if use color on text buttons, like easy level = green color, medium = orange color.
absolutly love this game concept and the effort put into this but one thing I found def reccomend that people play with thier friend a lot so maybe add a mode where you can race your friends?
Really cool. However, when I resized the window, the letters in the text boxes resized themselves to the point at which it was difficult to read the text. “Back to Menu” also clipped outside the size of the button itself.
Took a bit of a break after losing motivation; I’ve made some changes! -
-Added a hard mode
-Added ruins
-Crunched some nasty bugs
-Fixed audio after the audio update
-Finished multiplayer prototype (I am currently working on implementing it into the game)
Thanks, I think it’s because my instructions on how to play on mobile probably aren’t that clear, but I’ll look into it:) (and make the instructions better or add a tutorial)
Crunched some pretty serious game breaking bugs…
Added a prompt to mobile devices to help with playing.
Made some visual changes.
Altered levels to fix visual issues & improve experience.
Am currently working on an explore mode too, to allow players to explore the map.
