How can I make the Inside of my Cafe more detailed?

Hello there, I’ve been working on my cafe and put so far about 78 hours in the last few weeks and I am at this point here. I’m wanting not only some feedback but some suggestions on what I could do to make the inside more detailed. I’m not too worried about the outside being as detailed as the main focus of a cafe game is to hang out inside and not outside in a parking lot. (I may make some kind of feature for the parking lot OR keep it just for events in the future)

Please keep in mind that the cafe isn’t fully done I still have tons to do.

This is the point I’m at right now:

Thanks for reading and anyone who can give me some feedback or suggestions.

Small garden like small trees or some plants to add a bit of nature feeling.

Where do you think the small plants should be placed? Right now the outside of the cafe isn’t done so I am planning on adding trees outside I just haven’t gotten to that part yet as I am planning on maybe putting a small clothing store next to the cafe.

May I ask what this cafe build is going to be used for? I think the design of the cafe depends on how it will be used.

I was trying my best to make it look like a cafe in real life, the inside of the cafe may not look the exact same as I had no pictures of the inside so I had to just try my best.

Ah, alright.
Well, when I first saw the cafe, I thought that it looked dark and a little old. Though I am not sure what kind of theme you are going for.
As @phet456 mentioned previously, I would add small plants in the interior to add some detail. I would also make the televisions lower.

Ill definitely add some plants around the cafe. For the TVs that you said I should make lower what ones do you mean? The ones that are gonna be used for the Menus or the one above the fireplace?

Around the corner of room and not obscure the how player will travel and window sight

I’m not sure what you mean by the player travelling and the window sight?

I was talking about the TV’s above the counter.

I’ll lower them by a nice bit. Those TVs will be used for the menus and will display a decal of the items on the menu

Place the plant off the path where people will possible walk ( Blue line ) will make them easy to walk through the room. Also not obscured the visibility from the window ( Green line ) so outside people can clearly see through the inside and vise versa

Now I get what you’re saying that’s definitely something I am gonna do right now.

Yeah, I have only placed one light above the entrance, Imma add more all over the cafe. Right now I have shadows on in light settings but then turned off the shadows on all the models, when I finish the cafe Imma turn shadows on for some things but not all as sometimes they don’t look nice or how they should look. I’ve noticed in other cafes that some things have shadows but other things don’t which is how I am gonna also do it.

give it a lower roof holy poop!! right now, the ceilling looks wayyyy too high which kind of makes the place look empty. did you use a character rig to scale this?? idk if uve ever been to a cafe in real life but the roofs are normally half as high as that one, unless you’re in some kind of retail park.

try putting surfaceguis on the floor with imagelabels that look like shadows. it will give the place the illusion that it’s on max graphics even on low end devices. doing this would make your cafe look more high quality too.

a lot of cafes have rugs and/or floor markings. floors arent always one-toned. try changing the colour and texture of the floor behind the counter or something. look at a reference picture while you’re building, never make things from memory. you should also add sauces, salt shakers, napkins etc to your tables to fill up the empty space.

In real life, the ceilings wouldn’t be high but if you play other cafes on Roblox usually the ceiling is much higher than mine. Adding a rug or floor markings would definitely be a good one and which I will do, for the sauces, salt shakers, napkins and stuff like that on tables it wouldn’t make sense for the cafe I am going for nor the menu and items being served.

Also, how do I go about adding a surfacegui & imagelabel to the floor that looks like a shadow?

other cafe games arent necessarily the best kind of reference to use. the ceiling in other cafes is quite high because they often accomodate more than one floor as well as stairs. stairs don’t always look nice with low roofs which is why this has to be done. your cafe doesnt seem to have another floor so the ceiling looks off. the best thing to do is to build your map with a low ceiling first, then raise the roof when needed. you kinda went crazy with its height lol.

as for the surfaceguis, you don’t really need to use them. you could use a decal instead. i use imagelabels for my stuff because i find that it loads on the client much faster on big builds but u don’t need to do that.

short tutorial on the shadow stuff

essentially, what it does is create fake shadows for people on minimum graphics. it also kinda enhances the shadows on max graphics too.

all u need to do is create an invisible part and parent the surfacegui to the imagelabel. after that, u can change the background transparency of the imagelabel to 1 in properties and add an image id to the image property. you might need to change the imagecolor3 property to make the shadow black or grey for some assets. this can be placed anywhere on your build where you think there should be a shadow.
