I have a question, what does the waterfall come from?

The waterfall maker plugin, i’m still trying to make my own

I meant, why is there a waterfall in the middle of nowhere and no source of water behind it (besides the ocean but water doesn’t go up the mountain obviously)

Oh, the point was just the actual waterfall and island i wasn’t making a whole build just a single little waterfall scenery

Are you going with realism or kinda a cartoonish look? I think it will look much better either way with some sort of small mountain behind it (with ice on top)

This is probably my 3rd-4th terrain build so i’m still testing and practicing before heading on a big project

I said a small mountain, I think you can make that pretty quick

Well i think it doesn’t look low poly/cartoon so the point was realism and ofc there would he a mountain behind and more decor around if i tried to make a full build, this is just little testing and getting to know and learn more about the tools and stuff like that

ahh I see, I thought you wanted to make some what of a finished showcase but it looks pretty good but maybe try adding more variations of terrain and more scenery (and small hills and maybe some sand as well)

Thank you for the feedback and no i want to start making a full showcase i just don’t feel like rn i have the skills to pull off something that i’d actually be proud of so i’m just tinkering and practicing and trying to get as much feedback and tips as possible

It’s a good start, but when building Terrain and going for realism try to think about how the item you are creating was created by nature.
Waterfalls tend to have pretty big eroding properties due to the amount of water flowing over them. This means that the river and waterfall would be cut back into the mountainside, leaving the waterfall set back with rock outcrops on either side.

Thank you for the feedback i’ll try to have a image of a real life waterfall next time to help with the design and realism

Just keep creating things and try to improve on the things you didn’t like, that’s s my advice.

Add small details that YOU think would make it look the most natural. For example, the small mountain I recommend using the add tool with the square brush to make the actual mountain. It adds an edge to it and gives it a bit of a crisp touch. Here’s a video to show:

(go back in afterwards and use the erode tool to round the edges if you don’t want them pointy)

Also, Utilize your tools !!
Each one of them play very important parts in how you make your terrain.
Take a look at natural geological references to aide you as you build!!

No, it wouldn’t look good with a small mountain, why would you call it a mountain if its small more like a hill
