Hello, so I am making a guess the meme game which contains a lot of memes, and I have heard of players getting banned for certain memes. How can I recognize what memes are bannable?
Do some research behind the memes. If it has an offensive background like it’s origins being racist or something, it’s probably banned.
Stuff that’s banned would be stuff like. having cuss words in it,Offensive content, racist etc, i also agree you should do some research though.
Well my friend was banned for uploading a decal of a doge with a black top hat and it was somehow inappropriate
I wouldn’t even worry about the banned memes part. I would rethink what you are trying to make. Please realize that memes in a sense are someone else’s property. The meme itself isn’t but the image that is used is. Without explicit permission to use said picture or property, you may open yourself up to DMCA takedown requests. The reason why memes exist and people can share them is that they are doing it as a personal venture, they aren’t making money off of it. They could still get a request to take it down even if it’s for personal reasons on social media but typically I don’t see that often. Once you start making money off someone else’s creation, the owner may want it taken down since you didn’t request permission from them. Memes may seem mainstream and open to anyone but they still fall under copyright law to the people who created / own them.
^^^ What Badandy said.
Doge might be banned due to its association with the O###B###yR##### style of memes and subreddit utilizing it.
Don’t upload Ugandan Knuckles that’s against the rules just so you know.
Is there any way I can get a staff member or someone to check out my game to make sure it has no banned memes?
That is not what I stated. I mentioned copyright which is a global thing. This would be an issue before we would address banned memes. You may be at risk for using memes without explicit permission of the copyright holder since you are using this for commercial purposes.
