Me and my friend are trading scripts for our games—I’m giving him a movement script, and he’s giving me a melee combat script. The melee script includes animations and sound effects that he created, but we’re not sure how to properly transfer them so I can use them in my game.
For animations, I know that they are tied to the creator’s ownership, so what would be the best way to allow me to use them? Do I need a group game, or is there another method?
For audio, I’ve heard that Roblox has restrictions on using other people’s sounds. Is there a way for him to let me use his custom sounds legally? Would he need to upload them somewhere specific or give me special permissions?
We both want to do this the right way, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
For the animations Your friend will have to animate the files in blender, then export them as an MP4 using FFmpeg video codec, and finally send them to you. For the sounds, if they are less then eight seconds, then he can upload them to the creator marketplace and you can use them. If they are over eight seconds, then have him send you them on discord or something. Hope this helps!
If your friend animated with the default animator or moon instead of blender, he could send you Rig.AnimSaves, which parents the animations for you to upload
Yes, that does sound like a solve, but the problem is I dont have discord. I’ve had some bad times on the app. Is there any other way other than discord?
