I’m trying to make a massive open world map using terrain, however it is causing a ton of lag because of how much terrain is in the game. Even if I fix the lag for the player, it takes forever for studio to load because it’s trying to render in all of the terrain. What should I do?
Just to clarify, did you generate the terrain or did you manually place it? Is decoration (terrain grass) enabled? What studio performance level are you using?
I used sealevel for the water (however I am looking for an alternative to terrain water, like those infinite wave generator things) and manually placed everything else. Decoration is enabled. I’m not sure how to check/change studio performance level.
It might be the sea level or decorations being too much for your device, I would recommend making the seal level lower or search for a model in the toolbox that are able to replicate terrain water.
While I know this isn’t a great solution or alternative, but due to my limited knowledge on what device you’re using and what type of specs it has, I can’t really give you a definitive answer.
To fix the player lag use streaming enabled, this will only load the terrain that is visible by the player camera/is near them.
This is another issue on its own. I’d recommend messing with studio quality and render settings.
I’ve been using streaming enabled, however it’s not working on terrain for some reason. Only parts are not being loaded in, all of the terrain is still there.

It only takes a long time to load on that game specifically.
