So I am reaching the end of my story game. And I want to create a unique boss fight. What elements or things should I add to make it stand out?
You should make 3 hearts , and boss attacks of course when boss uses move players can’t attack boss , and when boss finished with attack players can beat one heart . You can also make some cool special moves for boss and make minnions to make boss battle more interesting . I hope it will help you and don’t forget to use some lighting effects , it’s really useful !

Maybe you can use just health bar for the boss , like when player hit him , you can damage 15 of 100 health ? I think it was rarelly used before ?
Well usually Bossfights require a good action packed song
What I usually see in Bossfights is that they have 2-3 phases at which they get to when lowered in HP, each phase usually have 3 attacks
What I thought of is that you could have your own NPC being the bossfight with a pencil and a book to represent you as the story writer
Phase 1
Normal Attacks: Slashing, Teleporting, Taunting
Special Attack: You write a story with your pencil and whatever is wrote on there happens to the person who’s fighting the boss
Phase 2
The Boss throws his pencil and book at the player and becomes angry
Normal Attack: Smash the ground, Slash of Air, Cause an Earthquake
Special Attack: Charge up a beam of words that you shoot towards the player
Phase 3
The Boss becomes terrified of the player who’s fighting him and begins to back away
Normal Attacks: Throws rocks, Makes walls by hitting the ground, Teleports
Special Attack: The Boss sacrifices himself creating a huge AOE blast that the player has to dodge
