How could I improve my artwork

Hey! I’m K0rrupt! And I was wondering what I could do to improve my artwork!

Here is what I drew with the character reference, I would love to hear criticism and some tips and tricks I could use for my next artwork!

I love it! Here are a few things you could improve on:

  • Give the hair volume! It’s spiky in the reference picture, so add spikes!
  • Keep in mind the proportions of the body. Doesn’t need to be perfect, but proportions can help make your art look “right”. In this drawing, I think that you could make the arms longer. In real life, our arms hang down past our waists!
  • A great thing to give him more depth is the use of shading (and highlights!)
While even I haven’t quite gotten the hang of either, it really helps my art look better. Good places to add shadows are the neck (underneath the chin), behind the nose, and on the side of the face. Of course, these vary greatly depending on where the light source would be. In general, I add shadows in these places.

That’s all I can think of right now! I love the attention to detail- the effort is obvious. I hope my tips help you!

The legs are a bit far apart, and he doesnt really have a hip. Otherwise good job.

I honestly think you have potential!
I like the details on the props and the t-shirt!

I would work on making the hair more dynamic and add some shading to give it some volume!
