How could I just give this overall more impact?

Currently I’m revamping multiple animations for my personal passion project, and I’ve been trying to do purely linear, and I feel like I can achieve it, but there’s something about the impact of the actual punch missing and it bothers me an awful bit.

Try pulling back, waiting a split second, and then make the movement of punching in less frames so it goes a little faster. Also try stopping suddenly and then making the fist shake slightly.

Sadly, these are the frames that I’m working with. Might be time to switch to moon animator but

Here we go.

The keyframes are evenly spread, which is why it doesn’t look dynamic. Maybe adjust the time inbetween, and keep in mind that the punch out should be lots quicker than the charge up

the legs slide, making the punch seem gentler.
try having the legs push into the punch a little more.

Attempted your advice, and here’s the result here.

You only need 3 keyframes. Start, charged, extended. Turn on IK. Use easing.

Here, I made you an example. I’m a terrible animator though

The thing is I don’t really enjoy relying on IK too much, because then I get extremely lazy with legs. Also, won’t only animating 3 keyframes I won’t be able to exaggerate/setup the actual hit with a lot of pull back to make the anim look like it’s generating a lot of force?

The animation is nice, but it was easier to do the animation in Moon Animator 2, but now it has robux, its price is 800 robux, Look:

Get Moon Animator, it is very good for those who don’t know how to use Blender or can’t use it, it is beginner friendly yet still, it is advanced enough to make good animation. It is worth 800 Robux.

Btw, your animation should look like this:

with different easing, timing, and a little bit of pacing.
(btw it took me 1 hour just to make that 1.25 seconds)

Your words are 100% correct, but if you have Moon Animator 2 and Blender, this is excellent, but if Blender is difficult for you, use Moon Animator 2, the easiest thing you have

Used blender, but it makes me very reliant on purely IK, so the legs just end dup looking weird when it gets to posing.

In my opinion, the arm moves way too slowly while punching.

fixed that a little since I moved my stuff to moon animator instead of the normal roblox animation. It just feels as if it’s missing something major.

Old bump but I stumbled on this post. I can see some problems.

  • Your arm slows down towards the end of the punch, so it looks like he’s gently touching the air.
  • Your guy also doesn’t seem to have any follow through. Newton’s law, an object in motion stays in motion. Try punching the air really hard and see if you also slow down.
  • Move the shoulder first, have the arm lag behind.
  • Remove some frames from the middle so it goes faster like other users mentioned
  • Think about the line the fist travels in

I’m still new so I don’t know what to do about the legs. I’d like to know too!
