How could I make a throwable Item?

Hello! I am trying to create a throwable dodgeball but I have no idea where to start. How would you guys go about doing this? Im trying to make it a tool

Well, if you want to just throw it using the default tool animation, you can just apply a velocity to the dodgeball right away. If you want to use a custom animation, it’s best to use animation events to make the ball look more realistically thrown.

How could I apply Velocity? (I’m not the best at roblox physics)

For one-time, instant physics, I typically set the AssemblyLinearVelocity of the object or use Part:ApplyImpulse(). Other ways to apply physics are with VectorForce and LinearVelocity objects (only use LinearVelocity if you don’t want gravity to apply).

Thanks! Im using a tool and I was wondering would it be any different from any other normal part? I want it to set the tools parent to the workspace when they throw it and then other people can pick it up when its been thrown
