How could I make my main UI design look better and more fitting to my game theme?

Okay, so my current main menu features 3 simple buttons, our game logo and a camera in the background that moves around the map.

Our game theme is a zombie apocalypse themed game. I want a clean UI mainly targeted towards younger audiences. I am not the best at making UI, so I will need some help from you guys.

Please leave me some tips and/or things to add to the UI. Thanks.

I’ve drafted up an idea of how I think your buttons should appear:

What I’ve done is changed the font so it would appeal more to your audience, and coloured it to be brighter but less saturated than the button’s border. I layered 2 UIStrokes on the text (by duplicating the text and changing the Z-Index) so that the text is first outlined in black, and then outlined in a colour slightly darker than the button border. I also thickened the button’s border since thin borders aren’t that appealing to a younger audience.
Here’s how it looks in the Explorer:

And since I’m a little bored, I did the same for the other two buttons:

I’ll admit, I’m no UI designer, and it doesn’t look the best, but it’s just a draft to show you what kind of UI would attract your target audience.
Perhaps it looks better without the 2nd stroke:

Would something like this be too graphic?

( I personally think it fits due to the style of the map )
