How do builders create stunning creations with Blender?

I always wonder how people make stunning models with Blender. If so many people can do it, it must be easy to manage. I’ve watched a few YouTube tutorials but they didn’t help too much. I will appreciate any help.
Thank you. :slightly_smiling_face:

To be honest, it’s hard at first. But once you know how to select, move, and go into edit mode you should be fine! I suggest tracing models from blueprints to start off which is what I did. Also I suggest to change some controls with the mouse. Soon enough you’ll build/model like this, using only reference pictures!

To model well, you just need to know the basics and have the ability to improvise and move on, even if nothing goes as planned.
Research, use not just a reference image, use multiple, not just stick to what you see, use your creativity to innovate.
I always say that each one has his style, each one has his way of doing things and this is different from the others.
Train every day, even if little, one day try to do something you did not do yesterday, try to learn what you did not learn yesterday.
Write, execute, tell people about your work.
Anyway, train, work hard, do not give up, even if it does not look right!
I hope I have helped.
Sorry for my bad English

Ah, finally, someone who asks. First starting with blender is hard. But soon, after a few weeks or so, you start to progress in skill! Sometime aYouTube can help, but like you said, not always. I suggest looking at this It’s a search for blender tutorials, maybe you can find it helpful! Also, good luck in blender!

Practicing helps alot! May seem complicated at the beginning, but the more you use it, the easier it’ll get

It’s fairly easy after watching a few tutorials, for me personally it was pretty ruff at first as i couldn’t comprehend how to properly use the tools blender offers, but after a while i got used to it.

Having spent the past nine years building with bricks, it’s been difficult for me to integrate with Blender as well. I essentially just watch YouTube tutorials on how to make specific objects when I need to, such as detailed, bevelled bricks, curtains, fabric, etc. I don’t exactly class myself a virtuoso with Blender, capable of making an entire build out of Blender-made meshes, but rather use it as a tool to accentuate my own brick buildings. So far, Blender has been good at doing that and it is a useful tool, but it is not – and in my opinion, should not – be one’s only tool.

Watching YouTube videos really helps. Though I recommend you learn every key, and button there is on Blender, and how to use them. This could help you out with modeling. Tracing out models you want is also a big part. Also, ALWAYS PRACTICE, you can’t just go to Blender, and expect stuff done! You have to put effort into your models. One last thing, find an inspiration for your model, and work off that. Good luck, and I know you’re going to do fantastic.

YouTube videos from CG Cookie and Blender Guru are really good.

If you want to learn the basics of solid object modeling, and are will to spend a few tens of bucks for quality tutorials that go deep into techniques, I found the “Hard Surface Modeling in Blender” video collection by Gleb Alexandrov and Aidy Burrows to be really well done. Hard-surface modeling covers things like the Humvee above; everyday mechanical objects, props, robots, weapons, etc. What it does not cover are things like skinned characters, rigging, cloth sim, particle systems, animation, UV mapping, materials, etc. It’s just hours and hours of everything to do with modeling. That said, Blender is just about to have a huge UI change that will render a lot of shortcuts and menu-specific advice outdated (between 2.7 and 2.8), so keep it in mind that any tips you learn for 2.8 and earlier may not transfer as-is to 2.8+
