How do games like rake remastered get so dark?

So I am making a game like The Rake REMASTERED, but I don’t know how to get the world so dark?

This is a picture I took during gameplay, not sure about the exact time of day, but its dark, like very dark. How would you do this?

I have the brightness inside of lighting set to zero, and every color option set to black (except fog end, which is [52, 52, 52], or dark grey) and below is how dark I can physically make it.

Its not dark (ignore no trees)

Any tips on how to make it darker?

Set the ExposureCompensation in lighting or whatever its called to a low value, in the negatives.

You can set brightness to a negative value. Also it looks like they are using contrast to achieve black n white look when it’s dark.
Play with Atmosphere settings to make a very close, dense and dark fog, to reduce the visibility distance.
