How do I create great maps for a sword fighting game?

I’m making maps for my sword fighting game, and I want to try and layout my maps like early roblox maps. (Chaos Canyon and Crossroads) The thing is that I have no idea on how to tackle this, the steps, and how to analyze these types of maps and try to make my own in a similar layout. I’m not too good at building.

For sword fighting maps a must are:
Obstacles which can be used to outrun enemies
Heights, a plain map would be boring and players would have less strategies to use
Small spots, like houses or corridors in buildings

Make the map as much enjoyable as you can and maybe try fighting with your friends and ask them for opinions!
Hope I helped.

Firstly, find out what season theme you want to do.
In my opinion, a winter season looks best.
If you’re doing something like a FFA map, make sure you have random spawns in that area that corresponds with that team.
If you’re doing a battlefield, make sure that you have 2 different spawns on the different side of the map that corresponds with the teams.
Also make sure that both teams have the same advantages. It’s kinda unfair if you were to make a pathway to the terminal that the other team can’t access.
For the terminal: I’d put it kinda far away from the spawn. Make sure to include shortcuts, and an obby.
Also as suggested before, you can do a simple map with NCP’s.

Those are just a few ways you can make a good sword fighting games.
I wish you the best of luck, if you need anything feel free to message me.

You should use the following; obstacles, low and high ground, item drops, and bricks that slow you down

thank’s everyone! im gonna finish my map soon and post the result onto building support

I’m actually making a sword fighting game too! I’d focus on making maps that have different obstacles and an actual ‘map’ rather than just to build something random.

Sword fighting maps are fun because they have mini obstacles that doesn’t really distract their attention but still keeps their focus on killing the enemy. However players would get bored if it is just a flat area, you could create pits or mountains.
