How do I design a dungeon crawler map/dungeon?

You can write your topic however you want, but you need to answer these questions:

  1. What do you want to achieve? Keep it simple and clear!
I want to start working on my dungeon crawler game (Treasure quest, Dungeon quest type games), but I don’t understand the layout and design of each map/dungeon (I want to make my own!)
  2. What is the issue? Include enough details if possible!
I want to make my own dungeons, but I don’t know where to start. I don’t know how to make an enjoyable experience for people.
  3. What solutions have you thought of so far?
I’ve tried to look at examples by other people and kind of see what’s happening, but I just want to make sure my maps are easy for people to navigate through and fun to play

After that, you should include more details if you have any. Try to make your topic as descriptive as possible, so that it’s easier for people to help you!

If you are aware of any tutorials, structures, or general rules, please let me know. Anything similar is appreciated!

(I have coding experience but little design experience.)

You should start off making basic rooms with parts that other rooms can branch off of. This is how Doors does it. Add a part that marks the start and end / alternative paths. The scripting part is rather easy, and I’m sure you’d be able to figure it out on your own
