How do I design static electricity particle textures in paint.net?

So I’m trying to design some eletricity particle textures similar to something as seen with the flash. But I’ve found no tutorials whatsoever on drawing particle textures from scratch, do you guys have any sources on how to approach this? What would I have to do, just draw outlines of electricity or what lol.

Probably just draw an electricity particle if you’re using paint.net. It should be easy. Just draw outlines of a lightning bolt or whatever you’re doing and insert it to ROBLOX studio. Copy and paste it and put it around whatever you want. I don’t understand why you want to do it in something like paint.net though, it’s easier to use another free program or blender and make it 3d, since inserting it from paint.net might be troublesome and a problem. Please tell me if this isn’t what you mean and I misread your question. I’ll try to help more.

I’m trying to make particle textures like these, I use paint.net because it’s the only free software I know, if you know any better softwares, please do tell.

I’m pretty sure those are made with something like Krita or possibly even Fire Alpaca, both free softwares that I suggest you use if you make art and aren’t looking to use a paid program. I’m looking at it now, and do you mean static particles? I would make them move, but since I don’t understand programming too well, don’t listen to me. Anyways, I’d use a somewhat transparent brush as it looks like you can see the background through the thin lightning almost, so at 70% possibly. Do you just not understand how to make them or how to import them, save them, etc? To make them just do squiggles that somewhat resemble that (like 4) and distribute around the avatar, hopefully I helped. If you still need anything you can reply or just message me.

I’m just not quite sure how to draw them out, what patterns to use, art has never been my strongest suit. I’ll check out those two programs now.

Squiggles would be your best bet. You could use cartoony lightning bolts for a smoother game, but it depends on your scenery in your game and how much the lightning strains your game. Good luck!

lmao so I tried drawing out one which looks pretty decently sized on the canvas:

But absolutely hideous in studio:

Aside from the transparency brush, how should I approach having different hues of orange and yellow on the design?

Different hues of orange is a little more advanced. If you want to have a simple colour, that’s great. But making it have multiple and still being good is difficult. You would need to blend it to make it look good or you would have to make singular bolts and change each individual colour.

If you want to blend, go here. (firealpaca you just use airbrush and go around the edges and stuff.)

Or if you need different hues, use the same sized canvas and draw only 1 singular bolt. Keep doing this and do what I said above. ^

Also, about it being terrible in studio, it’s because the canvas is probably small and you can change that in both firealpaca and krita. So fat, which one are you liking?

I’ve installed both, but the interface is unfamiliar to me at the moment. So am gonna have to watch a couple tutorials to get familiar with the tings. Anyhow, thank you so much for the tips and introducing the programs. Have a solution and a like

Thanks! If you really enjoy art, I suggest you get a tablet. It is easier and right now they’re really easy to get. Good luck on your particles and keep on making things!

I recommend u use ‘‘After Effects’’ and use Saber Plugin, It is more easy than that
