How do I do Functions & Events

So I wanted to learn about Functions & Events, I am completely stuck on learning Functions & Events. I’ve watched all the Scripting Guides, looked through all of DevFourm but I’ve had no luck! I was wondering if there are any other ways that I can easily learn and remember Functions and Events.
