So generally I once used to make a project with houses for a friend and decided to use it on my map due to the houses looking similar and just being well made, but unfortunately, when I pasted the house it was just literally dark and by a lot.
I’ve wanted to try finding out by myself how to fix that problem, but I want some professionals in lightning issues like these to help me figure it out for my future problems in a case this one occurs again. I would appreciate some tips(not about the house, but thanks[generally lighting]).
Basically, the one on the left is the one with given shadows, and the right one is the one with the block’s given SurfaceLight, I want some information if there’s a way to make them look with chill lighting and any buggy weird looks(aka. tons of lights next to each other, additionally making them collide and causing both of them to light one spot and making that one brighter than the other parts of the house, making it looks weird and not fitting the vibe)
thanks
Not 100% sure about what you want here, but a surface light is a good place to start with lightning things up. if you want the lightning to look more natural, play with the color and brightness to give it a cool-dark feel. If you are unhappy with just one surface light and how that’s lightning it, I generally rotate my surface lights and hit key areas. Parts also have the option to remove shadows, so you could possibly do that with the mountains if you wanted.
Also, as a bit of game design advice, think about this: the mountains you have surrounding this small village are incredibly high - which makes light from the sun unable to reach it. Along with this, it’s unnatural for a village to be sat in a valley surrounded by cliffs - unless that’s what you are going for. There are two ways you can change this to make it look a bit more natural with some light.
First, you can change the position of the sun using a plugin OR by messing around with the sun position in lighting.
Second, you could make the mountains go up more gradually. Make it more of a multi-outlined circle where each time the outline goes farther ut, the mountains get higher up (starting next to the village the hills would be smaller, then you duplicate them and make them go outward making it gradually bigger.

Some of the stuff on the second row is a bit impossible, due to it being a fanmade game following the same structure of looks, aka. high hills, blocky houses and etc.
But I appreciate the idea given in the beginning.
