How do I fix the Elevation Policy Error?

Hi,

So for about a year, I have been getting this “Access Is Denied” error, and I’m wondering how to fix it:

Screenshot (167)

I have tried:

  • Reinstalling ROBLOX Studio

  • Logging out and back in (This is Stupid ik)

  • Looking through Files

I get that you could Run the Program as Administrator, but I was wondering if you could fix this from happening entirely?

Is there something wrong with Downloading the Application?

Or this just a Normal thing?

This is because you launched it as an admin once.

This was way before I started doing this, It started happening randomly about a year ago.

And apparently one of the the solutions was to run as administrator which seems to work, but its annoying to have it doing it everytime now

There’s an option when you right click the desktop shortcut and press properties. This believe you can set it to launch as an admin.

Already aware of this.

But it still prompts me everytime, but I was wondering if there was a way to stop this.

It only happens in Studio, nowhere else but is the part i’m wondering about.

You accidentally installed studio as admin. You just need to uninstall it as admin then reinstall.

Are you able to explain how to do this?

Edit:
Actually nevermind, I changed the Application path from RobloxStudioLauncherBeta to RobloxStudioBeta which seems to have fixed the issue, Please let me know if that is ok or if that would cause issues.

If you remove the launcher you won’t receive any updates. You should just use @SubtotalAnt8185’s solution since it seems easy enough.

Are you talking about the shortcut on the desktop? If so, then that means that Roblox might not be able to update. I believe you can just delete the registry key for Roblox so you can install it without admin.

I see,

I’ll have to do this later but thanks

Ok Hi,

I have tried Multiple times to Delete the Registry Key for a while and Everytime I do so, This issue continues to pop up when I open the Application for a Second Time

Weird. You can try deleting the folder in the program files.

I made sure to delete everything related to Roblox on my PC, and then I reinstalled everything

It seems to work the first couple of times, and then it starts asking me to run as administrator.

Right now, Seems to be working fine, so I’ll try for another 2 Hours or so, if nothing happens I’ll mark your post as the solution.

(This is very odd because I have done this so many times and I got the exact same result, now its being different)

This happens to me too whenever Roblox tries to update. It will ask you 2 to 3 times if you want to run as administrator, just say no. I’ve had this exact same issue before.

My speculation is Roblox is trying to get you to run as admin so they can have higher level anticheat support.

Good to hear.

Ok, So I was busy, But It’s now giving the exact same Error, So I’m not sure what to do.

Im still not entirely sure what to do, All I can find on this is:

  • Run As Administrator
The Issue with this is that I have to do it everytime, and everytime Studio updates, I have to repeat the process over and over again which gets Annoying

  • Change the Shortcut Path to RobloxStudioBeta instead of RobloxStudioLauncherBeta
But apparently (at least what @2jammers stated) it wont get updates.

However I’m not exact sure because I’m not removing the launcher but changing the Shortcut Path, unless that’s what he means.

Okay, it should have worked. You just need to run RobloxStudioLauncherBeta without admin somehow. In the error message, delete the registry key listed there.

I made sure to check them and none of them have administration permissions on them, even after checking with the console. They dont have it. It just randonly happens after it after downloading the Application.

Do you mean RobloxStudioLauncherBeta?, it just says “failed to create key”

@SubtotalAnt8185

So While doing whatever,
I have noticed that Admin is applying itself within the Properties for some reason, Is that a normal thing?

Because for some reason it keeps wanting me to install it all over and over again?

That’s normal. Make sure that you say no if it asks for admin.

Not sure. Just disable it in properties.
